The Feast of the Holy Trinity. Feast of our God. Speaking about God is like talking about a parent or a friend. One does not speak of stature or age; one speaks of the experience of the beautiful relation that binds us with this person. We can not understand God, but we can love him and we can feel how much he loves us. Our God is a Family-God. Family life brings us closer and to a likeness of our God. The Church is a life in family, in the manner that reflects God’s life. The best way of “understanding” our God is to feel connected to him as a parent and a friend. We take this opportunity to give our God a hug and give him thanks for being so close to us.

Mi experiencia en Notre Dame/My experience at Notre Dame
¡Bendito sea Dios!

The Feast of Pentecost is near when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit over the emerging Church founded by Jesus. As I write this message I still find myself excited about the experience that impacted my life last week at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana. I was invited by the Secretariat of Cultural Diversity of the United States Conference of Bishops to take part in a dialog among the representatives of the 6 main cultural groups (families) within the Catholic Church here in our country. I do not have adequate words for expressing the experience I enjoyed at this conference; but at the very least I can share what could be seen, felt and experienced, by looking into a window towards the future of the Catholic Church in 50 years. Little by little and with God’s favor, I would like to share this unique experience that God blessed me with: The Holy Spirit continues to manifest itself in the Church as a spirit of unity among diversity and diversity among unity. Thanks be to God!
