¡Feliz Día de la Independencia!/Happy Fourth of July

Quiero felicitar a todos los ciudadanos de este país por la celebración del aniversario de su independencia. ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia! La Independencia de los Estados Unidos influenció grandemente la lucha de la Nueva España (hoy México) por su independencia. Quiero aprovechar la oportunidad para agradecerlo. También quiero mostrar mi agradecimiento a este país por haberme abierto las puertas y aceptado como uno de sus ciudadanos. En este país he encontrado grandes oportunidades que me han ayudado a crecer y madurar como persona y como sacerdote. Por eso, todos los días hago un esfuerzo por devolver de alguna manera lo que he recibido. Al mismo tiempo quiero expresar mi deseo de que este país siga manteniendo la tradición de ser una tierra de acogida y oportunidades para las nuevas generaciones de inmigrantes. Por ultimo, quiero pedir que Dios derrame la abundancia de sus bendiciones sobre los Estados Unidos. ¡Felicidades!

I’d like congratulate all of the citizens of this country for the celebration of the anniversary of their independence. Happy Independence Day! The independence of the United States greatly influenced the fight of the New Spain (today Mexico) for their independence. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation. I’d like to also show my gratitude to this country for having opened the doors and accepting me as one of its citizens. In this country I have discovered great opportunities that have helped me grow and mature as a person and a priest. This is why I try every day to give back in some manner what I have received. At the same time, I’d like to express my wish for this country to continue the tradition of being a land of welcoming shelter and opportunity to the new generations of immigrants. Lastly, I’d like to ask God to spread the abundance of his blessing over all of the United States. Congratulations!
