Ministerio de las prisiones/Prison ministry

Me preguntan sobre el ministerio de la Iglesia Católica en las prisiones y cárceles de Idaho; y sobre cómo podrían ayudar. El ministerio de la prisión lo llevan a cabo hombres y mujeres voluntarios. Domingo tras domingo, visitamos a nuestros hermanos y hermanos privados de su libertad en las cárceles de los condados y las diferentes instalaciones de la penitenciaría del Estado. Les llevamos la Palabra de Dios y la Sagrada Eucaristía. Les hablamos del amor de Dios por ellos. Los preparamos para los sacramentos y los ayudamos a conocer su fe y a crecer en ella. Les decimos que siguen siendo miembros de la Iglesia y que no los olvidamos en esos momentos difíciles por los que están pasando. Cuando alguien se ofrece como voluntario para este ministerio, nosotros nos encargamos de explicarle el proceso de preparación y el tipo de trabajo a realizar. Si usted no puede ir, por alguna razón, puede ayudar en otras formas; por ejemplo, con sus oraciones. Además, necesitamos Biblias (en inglés y en español), rosarios, libros de oraciones y de lectura espiritual, etc. Si usted tiene preguntas puede llamarme al 344-2597 o escribirme a: jcamacho@stmarysboise.org o a icpm@rcdb.org. +++++++++I have been asked about the Prison and Jail ministries in the Catholic Church here in Idaho; about how they can help. The prison ministry is led by men and women volunteers. Sunday after Sunday we visit our brothers and sisters who have lost privileges of freedom and are locked up in the county jails and different state prison establishments. We take to them the Word of God and we help them know and grow in their faith. We tell them that they remain members of the Church and that we do not forget them while they are going through their difficult times.
When someone offers to volunteer for this ministry, we take on the responsibility of explaining the process and preparation and the type of work that is to be accomplished. If for some reason you cannot go to the prisons, there are other ways to help; for example, you can pray. In addition, we need Bibles (In English and Spanish), rosaries, prayer books and spiritual literature, etc. If you have questions, you may call me at the parish office, 344-2597 or write me at: jcamacho@stmarysboise.org or icpm@rcdb.org.
